Fat loss comes from a sustainable calorie deficit, but training decides how strong, capable and consistent you feel while creating it. Strength and cardio solve different parts of the problem.
Why strength training stays in
Strength work gives your body a reason to retain muscle while you lose weight. Compound movements such as squats, presses, rows and deadlifts also make everyday movement easier.
Two to four focused strength sessions each week are enough for most people. Progress gradually instead of turning every workout into a test.
What cardio does best
Cardio improves work capacity, heart health and recovery between efforts. It also increases energy expenditure without requiring more heavy lifting.
Mix easy-paced work with one or two shorter, harder conditioning sessions. More is not automatically better if it damages sleep or makes strength sessions worse.
A week you can repeat
A simple starting week is three full-body strength sessions, two easy walks or cycles, and one optional conditioning session. Keep at least one genuine rest day.
The best plan is the one you can repeat for months. Pair it with protein-rich meals, mostly minimally processed food and portions that match your goal.
